SLYTHR was founded by guitarist Harry Shield and drummer Ben McMurray in 2022 before seeking out fellow student Amy-Lee Lidgard from their high school to front the band. The band continued as a three piece until asking Bassist Cade McGrath to join the group. They played their first show opening for KRAVE in the october of 2023 before playing a string of shows across Fortitude Valley to promote the band before their debut release. Love, Lust and Heartbreak released on May 11th of 2024 as the band first EP. Gathering over 1000 streams on spotify alone within the first 24 hours. Throughout the remainder of 2024 they performed restlessly, completing their first tour to promote their earlier release, and having the opportunity to open for world-renowned act, Bodyjar. In 2025, SLYTHR had the opportunity to perform at the Rock Is Not Dead 1 and 2 Festivals, to open for popular acts such as Dead City Ruins and These Four Walls, and to perform more headline shows throughout Queensland, but had been collectively writing and preparing for their next release in the background aswell. In January of 2026 SLYTHR released Peace of Mind, a slower, solemn power ballad focusing on mental health struggles, and the percieved lack of support for those in need of assistance. 2026 has a lot in store for SLYTHR with aspiration of another extended release in addition to more support and headline shows across the nation.
SLYTHR released their first EP in May of 2024 which gained immediate traction in the Brisbans underground music scene. Since then they have released a single titled 'Peace of Mind' in January 2026 with plans of an extended release later in the year.
